Laurence (Larry) Eugene Morton
Born : October 7, 1958
San Diego, California
Now residing in New Braunfels, Texas

I started riding and racing in 1972 on a Yamaha 100 MX. My first race was at Four Corners in San Diego, then shortly thereafter CMMC was formed and moved over and built the Barona Oaks track. I moved up to the 125 class in 1975, and started racing with CMC at Carlsbad and Saddleback in Southern California. I turned intermediate in 1976 in the 125 class. Then in 1979, I started racing the 250 intermediate class and was the dominate rider during the Golden State Series. Shortly thereafter I turned Pro. I immediately started to finish top 10 in the pro class.
I was fortunate to grow up with the likes of Broc Glover, Ricky Johnson, Marty Tripes, Randy Hess and Scott Burnworth during the famous " EL CAJON ZONE" days. Broc was my mentor, he was largely responsible for helping me turn pro.
In 1984, I missed qualifying for the San Diego Supercross main event by one position, unfortunately I crashed while in a qualifying position. Also in 1984, I married my wife Carrell.
I retired from racing in 1987. The next 10 years or so I raced Mountain Bikes (expert), competed in triathlons, and got very involved in rock climbing when we moved to Colorado. I have established over 50 sport climbs.
During the last 7 years in Colorado I was working as a chef. I took a part time job at a Yamaha Dealership, they gave me a bike, so I started racing again.
I then contacted Gary Semics who was looking for instructors. I went to Ohio to where Gary lives and recieved my certification. I was a GSMXS instructor for 5 years. Since 1996, we have instructed over 1500 students. We travel about 60,000 miles per year throughout the United States and Canada.
Our Classes are very structured, with an easy to understand format. Most of our classes are 2 day group classes, but we also offer semi- private and private classes as well. We cover all aspects of the sport, and have had very favorable results with our students.

During July of 2001, we parted ways with the GSMXS franchise to form our own independent school, the " 5 Magics Motocross School".
Also, I have designed and built a private track for schools and our team riders. I will continue to offer track design and build tracks for others as well.
It is my desire to give back to this wonderful sport that has been so good to me over the last 37 years.
